Governor looks to Portland Youth Builders as example
Last month, Oregon Governor Kate Brown visited Portland Youth Builders non-profit alternative school to meet with leaders and students. The governor wants to revamp state education programs, so that Oregon’s next generation is better prepared to join the work force, and she sees the hands-on education programs and apprenticeship opportunities at PYB as a model for what the rest of the state could be doing.
